This is one of the cards we did at a Stop and Stamp and at our last month's Card Buffet. I love using the starburst die. It is great how it can be used in so many different way! On this card the white starburst was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals to create an illusion of depth. An Easy but fun card.
Tomorrow I am getting together with some wonderful friends and fellow demonstrators in Peoria and we are going to have an afternoon Blogging workshop. Hopefully this will give me more tips and get me posting more. Blogging is really fun and I definitely have kept on stamping. So many ideas to share! Watch out, I'll be coming back strong!
Just a short post and a couple ideas and a confession. I have NOT finished my Christmas cards yet! Have you ever had the problem that you had so many ideas and no time. Well, join the my club. I love looking up ideas, creating cards, reinventing a CASED card and playing with my supplies. But when I sit down to make 50+ cards I get a mental block! It seems overwhelming.
I have learned I need to break things down into small blocks. So here is my block to accomplish for today. After I get done posting these couple ideas for you to try, I will address 25 cards today that I have already made, make and address 25 cards tomorrow and make and address any extra needed cards on Sunday. Feel free to write and ask me if I accomplished my goals.
Here is a simple cute card and uses one of my favorite things, WASHI TAPE. the beauty of this card is you can use any Washi tape. You can even make a Holiday card!!! Just change up your layering colors and greeting to match your tape and the occasion. Align the Washi tape to match the stripes made by running the Whisper White layer thru your Big Shot with the Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder (132174).
Here's another fast simple idea that can be adapted to any occasion using another of my favorites, Silver Foil Sheets (132178). Just punch the Smoky Slate cardstock with the Confetti Stars Border Punch and layer onto a Whisper White layer, stamp with the greeting of your choice, add a ribbon or cord and then layer onto the base card. Save the punched stars to put inside your card.
For your base cards have you tried the thick Whisper White cardstock (140272) yet? It's amazing.
Remember Snow and Snowman cards can be used yet for a couple months.
It is about time I get myself in gear and share some of the wonderful happenings and projects in my life. I promise to get better. My mentor says you write several posts ahead and then you pace yourself. Thanks Debbie, I'll give it a try.
This past weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to be part of a Stamp Fair in Peoria, IL. What a fabulous experience with 11 wonderful ladies. It was hosted by our stamping group called the Stray Ducklings, with Mama Duck, Lori doing a great job at keeping all of her duckling workers and participants in a row! Thanks Lori.
I was got to do a demonstration on making Gift Card holders from amazingly enough, Stampin' Up envelopes. I had a blast. Here are the basic instructions. In a future post I will share more of the ideas and samples for decorating the Gift Card Holders.
Every since one of my best friends and I had a Despicable Me fest, I have loved those cute little Minions. And now the Minion movie is due out so I felt it was time for a Minion Card. This amazing card was CASED from Linda Higgins, a very talented Stampin' Up Demonstrator.
I typed the "You are one in a Minion" on my computer and punched them out with the 2 1/2 inch circle punch.
How cute are these??? The supplies I used from the current catalog are shown here. I did have to use a couple discontinued punches to get some of the correct circles.
